Bob We're-having-a-baby-it's-a...

It's a...GIRL!!!

We are thrilled beyond belief. If Scott and I are being truthful, we really thought that it was a boy. The ultrasound technician wanted to be as accurate as possible (plus our baby is as stubborn as her mother :) ), so she did an external and internal ultrasound.

When she said it was a girl, Scott and I laughed and we both repeated that it was a girl outloud. We were shocked...floored. I was so anxious to leave the doctor's office because I wanted to talk to Scott about it when it was just the two of us. As soon as we were out the front doors, we started talking about it. We have been talking about HER all day!

I was preparing myself for footballs and bugs when I should have been preparing for barbies and hairbows! The more we talk about HER, the more we feel that we were always supposed to have her. We are supposed to have a girl as a part of our family.

If you know the Christensen family, that I come from, you know that my dad has been out numbered by women for years! I have 2 older sisters, and he is the only man. It looks like the Bagley household will be a house full of women too...hopefully Scott can handle us all!

Anyway, we are thrilled beyond belief! The ultrasound tech also said that the baby looked perfect. She said that the movement was right on and she could see a fully developed stomach, bladder, 2 kidneys, a spine, and the heart was beating properly. We have the full scan at 20 weeks, but everything is looking good! Baby GIRL Bagley will be here before you know it! :)

Tomorrow I will be 16 weeks! It's crazy to think that I'm already that far along...time passes too quickly. We were told by the ultrasound technician at our first appointment that we could pay a little extra at our 16 week appointment and find out if it's a boy or a girl. Honestly, I think I could wait until 20 weeks, but my husband has wanted to know since day one. In the end we figured, "Eh, why shouldn't we?". We both go back and forth on a daily basis, debating whether it's a boy or girl, so it will be nice to know!

That means tomorrow is D-day! Both of our families have placed their bets, and I have a few friends who have too. Anyone want to place any more? Boy or girl? :)

We are just hoping that baby cooperates tomorrow, and that it's easy for the technician to tell. Cross your fingers that everything works out!

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year, we went down to Moroni, UT to be with Scott's family. The snow coming out of Rexburg was terrible! Honestly, we didn't think we were going to make it out of Idaho. A trip that usually takes 5.5 hours took 9 hours. Haha...horrible. We watched people go off the road all around us! In fact, they closed the Utah/Idaho border as soon as we got home.

We had a blast eating lots of food, playing the Wii, and going Black Friday shopping!

Heaven.

I am officially 14 weeks and 1 day. Yes! This is truly what heaven feels like. I am officially in my second trimester. My nausea is slowly fading (Yes, again!). Instead of throwing up this whole time, I have just been burping up everything I eat...yep, pretty nasty. Burping is fading (YES!). My energy that magically faded at 6 weeks is back. Don't get me wrong, I still go to bed at 9:00 (like I live in an old folks home), but I have energy after work every day. This...is heaven!

Scott has been wonderful. Examples?

On the nights I was so nauseous I would come home from work, go straight to the couch, and not want to eat or smell any food, he would go through the list of cravings. Eventually, he would find something that sounded good, and he would run and get it before I changed my mind. :) (Isn't it interesting that you always crave food that you don't have? Or maybe that's just me... :) )

When I fell asleep on the couch at 8:00 at night, and I was laying on the remote, he would just sit there, and watch all the crazy night time shows until I woke myself up, and he would help me in to bed.

My ankles occasionally swell up after a long day at work, and he will massage my feet and elevate them until they look humanous again. (I know my sisters are cringing right now. :) )

When I end up crying on the kitchen floor because I am too sick to cook or when something I cook doesn't turn out right (Let's be honest, I had a little bit of this before, but thank you hormones for enhancing that wonderful trait in me.), he will lay right on the floor with me, and somehow, magically make everything better.

Everyday before work Scott packs me a lunch/snack that consists of every snack food imaginable. I'm always running around before work, so he always does it...even if that means that he skips breakfast because he doesn't have time to pack me snacks and eat.

He has been wonderful.

Our next doctor's appointment is on December 29th! We are SO excited. Maybe I am paranoid, but the only time I feel at ease about the baby is until I can hear the heartbeat or see them on the ultrasound. Does any one else feel that way? I worry in between every appointment about the baby, but I know I am crazy for thinking something is wrong. I think it is my innate need to protect and nuture this tiny baby in me. I'll be grateful to get the reassurance everything is okay in less than two weeks!

Until then, our lives are pretty uneventful! We are looking forward to Christmas and all the MANY adventures next year has to bring :)

Big Things Come in Small Packages

In this instance, something REALLY big did come in a VERY small package. I have imagined how I would write this post about a thousand times. I'm pregnant! Scott and I will officially be parents June 2011. For those of you frantically doing math in your head, yes, I'm 12 weeks along today!

To be honest, this news came to us as a complete surprise. We were not expecting it, but how could you not be excited about something like this?

7 weeks ago, I thought I could be pregnant. After 4 pregnancy tests and two false negatives later, we realized that it was true!

I woke up one morning at 5:00 in the morning, and I ran to the bathroom. While I was in there, I thought I would try one more time, and it said pregnant! I had played out and researched ways to tell Scott, but all of those went out the window VERY quickly! I took off in a run to the bedroom, shook Scott awake, and told him the news. Shock and awe would be the best way to describe Scott's reaction. After he woke up a little more, I turned on the light, and showed him the test, he realized it was true.

We went to find our camera, but it was out in the car...with all the snow, so we used our webcam!

Ignore the face and the no makeup...it was 5:00 in the morning!

After the shock wore off, we were both too excited/anxious to sleep, so we turned on White Christmas (yeah...it was in September, but it's a comfort movie :) ) and Scott made me an early breakfast!

We went for our first ultrasound at 8 weeks. I can't even begin to describe the relief when you see that tiny baby and find out everything is okay. Here is the first picture of our tiny baby!

Since the first ultrasound, the usually pregnancy issues have kicked into play. I have been sick everyday. I haven't thrown up, but I have been close SEVERAL times. I keep telling myself that I will not throw up. So far, it has worked. Another pregnancy symptom--I am SO tired. Scott has been wonderful and put up with me. I work 8-5, come home, lay on the couch, maybe make dinner, and head to bed at 9:00. I sound super exciting, huh? :)

Today made it all worth it! I went for my 12 week appointment today, and our baby is growing! We didn't get to keep a picture, but seeing the baby on the ultra sound made all the sicknesses worth it! I watched it's little arms/fingers and legs kick around inside me. I saw it's heart beat--heard it's heart beat, saw it's spine, ribs, brain. It was all wonderful! The baby has had a growth spurt since the last time we saw it, which is never a bad thing.

They did a Nuchal test to measure the space at the neck of the baby, and the doctor told me several times today that my baby was perfect.

I couldn't agree more. :) Whether or not we were ready for this adventure, the Lord thought we were, so we are gearing up for 6 months from today! Baby Bagley will be here June 15, 2011 :)

It's Beginning to Look A lot Like Christmas

I have been anxious to put up Christmas decorations since Halloween ended. I waited until we were about a week into November, gave up waiting, and asked Scott to haul our Christmas Decorations out of our storage unit. (The sad part was as I was pulling out all the Christmas stuff, I found a ton of Thanksgiving stuff...way to skip that holiday!)

I made a hope chest with my dad for a Personal Progress project as a teenager, and I have been packing it with stuff for my future home ever since. Surprisingly, I have more Christmas stuff than anything else! It was definitely a 3 day project to put everything up and away, but it was totally worth it. There is a spirit in Christmas that can't be found anywhere else. After decorating our apartment, I am convinced of that!

I know it doesn't sound very festive, but once we were done decorating, we got Texano Burritos from Ramirez (YUM), and watch NCIS the rest of the night!

Only 27 days to go...but who's counting? :)

Bagley Family Pictures

So...it's been a while :) A few weeks ago, we went down to Moroni, UT for Scott's younger brother Jake's 16th Birthday. Being the whole family was going to be down there, we scheduled Bagley Family pictures. We were even matchy matchy. See?

Saturday Adventures

Confession: we are not a very entertaining bunch these days :) I MAY have purposefully postponed this post...just to make it look like we lead interesting lives :)

Anyway, we did a lot of awesome things while Holly was here visiting, and one of them was going up to Mesa Falls!

We climbed to the top of the mine shaft! It was a fun day, and we finished it off by Big Jud's and a nap! Thanks for coming to see us Holly...we had a blast!

Mr. Jack-O-Lantern

"...is very round and fat." That's what you were all thinking, right? :) My mom was the coolest mom! Growing up, she taught my sisters and I Halloween songs. Now that I'm grown up, I can't get those songs out of my head this time of year! "Mr. Jack-O-Lantern" was one of the songs. (Sorry for the explanation...I just didn't want the title to sound creepy :) )

SO. Holly, Scott's sister, came up last Wednesday through Sunday to visit. It was a fun trip!...I just feel bad that we had to work through the majority of it. Friday night we came home to this huge pumpkin that Holly had bought.

I turned around for one second, and look what I found...sure, he looks like he's ready to carve some pumpkins, but this still creeped me out. :)

Holly had the great idea of making the pumpkin Scott...Haha...don't worry, it was as easy as it sounds :)

When she was done, she handed Scott the pumpkin and told him to pose. Then he realized what the pumpkin looked like...

And you can't carve a pumpkin without eating the seeds! We tried cooking them in a few different things...cough...okay, I just wanted to try some of the spices that are taking up space in my kitchen. We tried salt, seasoning salt, garlic salt, and worcheshire sauce. Not too bad... :)

Being I got to cook the seeds, I got to stay out of the pumpkin mess...which was nice :)

Fun, huh? :) Makes you want to sing Halloween songs now too? I have some pretty sweet ones if anyone wants to learn!

Idaho State Fair

Who doesn't love a good state fair?--ESPECIALLY good fair food. Scott and I budgeted some money to go to the Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot, and we spent basically all of the money on food. We love good food, though!

Example A, our dinner: This is the grizzley burger. It had 1/2 lb. of hamburger, 2 slices of cheese, sauteed onions, BBQ sauce, and ham aka amazing in your mouth!

My family went to the North Carolina State Fair every year. At the end of the night we would always get an elephant ear to split. At the Idaho State Fair we found Tiger Ears. They were just what I remembered Elephant Ears being like...except twice the size!
