Sleepy Quinn

Oh, how I love this boy! I was folding laundry, and I had a movie on for Jemma and Quinn. Quinn crawled over to me and said, "Mom, nuggle, me." So I picked him up, walked to the couch, and in 1 minute he was asleep in my arms!

Flu Shots!

Our health department offers a drive-thru clinic one day every year. With all the flu shots we need, it is the fastest way to get us all vaccinated! The kids were SO nervous (cue Cooper's impromptu flu shot prayers for a solid week and many, many tears had by Jemma) but they handled it really well! We are now ready for flu season!

Macey's Story Mishap

Macey came home with this storyline on her worksheet. On one of the squares they watched the sun, set...?

Mr. McDonald

Cooper makes me laugh. He had the chance to get something from the treasure chest in Kindergarten, and he picked these out. He told me all the things that he could have gotten--race cars, happy meal toys, etc., and then he pull out these glasses and started giggling. He insisted, when he was wearing the glasses, that he was "Mr. McDonald".

Lucy is Standing!

Lucy is getting really good at pulling herself up to standing!

Macey's Soccer Game!

Poor Lucy came along for the soccer game while she was sick...and I may have gone overboard with keeping her warm!

Dinner at the game!

A Sick Lucy

Lucy had an ear infection about a month ago. She has been teething like crazy, so her runny nose/sad attitude made sense. She had a few sleepless nights. Scott and I switched off. The turning point of those nights was a bath with Johnson and Johnson menthol bubble bath. We could get her calmed down enough to sleep! But baths at 3:30 in the morning are rough on moms and dads. Scott was able to get some inspiration and work on his lesson one early morning, so I guess it was a win for him!

We combed her hair so nicely after bath, and then she woke up crazy, crazy hair!

Then we had the breaking point night. It was terrible. Like newborn sick baby. She restlessly slept all night. She is in with the older two girls, and they both had school in the morning, so I pulled her out so the girls could sleep. I sat with her, then Scott sat with her, and we switched off like that the whole night! She would sleep, if sitting up, but not for long. She whimpered. We gave her tylenol, but at this point it barely made a difference. It was a rough, rough night! I snapped this picture at about 3 in the morning. She laid like this sleeping/whimpering for about 15 minutes.

I got her an early appointment at the doctor's office by our house. She was running a fever when we went in there, and the doctor said her ears looked rough, her throat looked rough, and she seemed to have a sinus infection.

So...antibiotic! Within 24 hours, she looked SO much better!

Johnny Appleseed

Both Macey and Cooper are learning about Johnny Appleseed, and they have come home from school with such great stories and worksheets. (Did I learn about Johnny Appleseed in school?!) Cooper came home with a homemade frying pan on his head. He was so proud, and it made my heart swell! I love that he was so proud of that frying pan!

Jemma With Straight Hair

Jemma asked me to straighten her hair before church, and when I did, she magically grew 20 years!

Fixing Up Bikes

Anytime the tools come out, the boys seem to all congregate together! Scott did a bike tune up day, and the boys helped out!

Accident Prone Quinn

Quinn is one accident prone kid. He has fallen so many times and banged the same side of his head! I am surprised he hasn't had any problems yet!

A couple weeks ago, at Wal-Mart, he was walking next to the cart, tripped over his feet, and smacked his head on the ground. His head immediately started to swell, and his nose started to bleed. Thankfully, we were in the baby aisle, so I ran and grabbed some wipes off the shelf. We got the bleeding stopped, and checked for a concussion--nothing. Just in case, we made him sit in the cart with the rest of the groceries. He was packed in there!!

One week later, he was walking down his grandma's driveway, and he fell head first and flipped. It was a pretty gnarly fall. He banged up the same spot on his head and bruised his arm. He just couldn't catch a break!

Sweet Macey

One of my favorite parts of Macey being able to write is finding her creations all over the house! Oftentimes, she leaves such sweet notes, and I find them after the fact! I found this on the floor while she was in school one day--what a Sweet Macey!

Fireside in Moroni

Scott and I were asked to give a fireside to the Moroni Stake Youth. (Well, Scott was asked, and he dragged me into it. :) ) We did have a lot of fun planning it together and going to do it together! The kids got to go to their Grandma Bagley's right after school got out--so they were in heaven! Their Grandma was once again amazing, and she fed them all dinner and took care of them so we could do this.

I snapped this picture as we were ready to head home! The kids all had their pajamas and a big blanket!

Sisters

Lucy at 1 Year!

We have a crawling explorer on our hands! She likes to pull things out of drawers and go from one room to another, making a trail!

I had to take a picture of Lucy in this outfit! All three girls have now worn it. (Macey wore it first to Emily and Dave's wedding in 2012!)

Lucy is starting to be a more independent eater! She has had a slow go at solid foods. She hasn't been very interested in real foods yet, so we are easing her in. The one thing we do know is that Lucy ALWAYS has some great entertainment while she eats!

Lucy loves the remote--and anything with buttons. If left on the floor, she will crawl as fast as she can to get it first!

Lucy isn't quite a walker yet, but she will walk along all the furniture in the family room.
