I pulled out my sewing machine in the beginning of October, and I put it away two days before Christmas. From Halloween costumes, nativity costumes, extended family presents, sewing some things for our ward family, hemming and patching Scott's suits repeatedly, and sewing Christmas for our kids ...I was exhausted! My sewing stuff took over our bedroom for 2.5 months, and the first night it was all put away, it felt like I was sleeping in heaven!
We didn't get any snow in December--any! I was totally bummed. When I moved to Utah, it was the 2nd white Christmas I had in my entire life...and I was 19 years old! There were reports of snow coming on Christmas, and I secretly really wanted it to happen! At 3:00 in the morning, I went to the bathroom. I checked out the window, and I saw about 1/2" of snow. I am pretty sure I came skipping out of the bathroom. I jumped into bed, woke up Scott, told him there was snow, proclaimed it to be a "Christmas miracle" and then we rolled over and went back to sleep. :)
We actually got to sleep in (for us) on Christmas Morning. At 7:45, we heard banging on the kids door, and we heard them say "Hey, it's Christmas! Come on, mom! Come on, dad!"
Batman and Belle opened presents with us!
Macey's big present was a Princess Aurora baby doll. I found this baby on clearance at Kohl's in September. With Kohls' awesome coupons and free shipping I got her for $6! Around the end of November, we started to ask her what she wanted for Christmas, and she told us she wanted a baby doll--score! Eventually, this turned into a princess baby doll and then a princess Aurora baby doll. Some one must have been watching over us! We didn't push her in that direction at all, but it's what she wanted! (She was really excited...although she doesn't look like it in these pictures!)
Cooper's big present this year was a set of Avengers. If you know Cooper, you know he is a little obsessed! With our Disney Movie Rewards points, we got a $10 gift card to the Disney Store. We ended up paying $2 out of pocket for these bad boys! Cooper was thrilled (and still is!).
Both kids got a few more small things, but they only cared about their big presents! Present opening went SO quickly this year! We decided to let Jemma sleep longer. She slept until 8:30, and she missed all the present opening! She got to open presents on her own. She got a free barn toy from Huggies Rewards, a $6 set of rings and a free pull apart Olaf from Disney Movie Rewards. She was so easy going, and I don't think she had any idea Christmas was going on!
On Christmas Eve, we went to Dollar Tree, and we let Macey and Cooper pick out presents for each other. Scott and I each took a different kid, and we successfully hid the presents from the other sibling! I had Cooper, and he seriously thought about Macey's present. He immediately picked out fairy wings. As we walked down the aisle, I would hold up other ideas. Cooper would think about it, and then pick the wings. So, that's what Macey got! She was SO excited! Go, Cooper...what a good brother!
There were so many things that Cooper would have loved! Macey kept picking things up, and she had a hard time deciding! She finally decided on an inflatable Spiderman shield. You can imagine how thrilled he was!

We had a quick breakfast of bacon and hootenanny pancakes, and we got to see Scott's brother Jake (who is on a mission in Zimbabwe) for a couple minutes!
We left our house once the snow cleared up a little! We headed to Mona for the day to spend Christmas day with my family! We were spoiled, and we had such a fun afternoon and evening!
We drove home through more snow, and we had three sleeping babes the whole way! It was such a wonderful Christmas. We are so grateful for all the love received!
