Sunday Afternoon Naps

Sunday is an awesome day. If we are lucky, mom and dad might be able to sneak in a nap--which doesn't happen on other days! Last Sunday, Scott was napping on the couch, when Jemma woke up. Jemma has THE HARDEST time waking up from naps. She went right over to Scott, laid down, snuggled up, and smiled. She sure loves her daddy!

Diaper Changes!

We have had/paid for diapers ever since Macey was born--we haven't had a break in 5 years! Since Cooper was born, we have shifted from diapers for 2 kids to diapers for 3 kids--someone is always in diapers...usually, more than one kid! (In case you are interested, we currently have 2 in diapers and one in pull-ups at night time.) 

So as you can guess, we have quite a few diaper changes in a day! What do the other kids do during diaper changes? (On this day...) Read magazines, of course! :)

Macey's Dance Performance!

First, should we take a look at Macey's adorable dance pictures?! These outfits just kill me! I can hardly believe that another year of dance classes has come to an end. She loves dance, and she still dances around our kitchen (with dance shoes) whenever music comes on!

Scott was able to photograph one of his former student's weddings at the temple, so we headed up to Moroni/Manti the Friday before Macey's final dance performance. We were able to go on Friday and do initiatories, and then we went to the wedding the next day. The kids had so much fun at Grandma Bagley's house that we didn't even make it to Ephraim before passing out in the back seat! It was a good power nap before Macey's final dance performance!

Jemma loves dancing just as much as Macey does. I asked Macey and Scott to sit on the first step of the band room to take a picture, and Jemma sat right down next to them...doesn't she look adorable?

Macey and Scott got to do a father-daughter dance this year, and it didn't disappoint! They practiced many nights on our kitchen floor and Scott even let Macey pick out which tie he should wear. (I guess I should mention that this tie wasn't her first choice. Her first choice was a Christmas tie, but luckily we were able to convince her this was a GREAT second choice! :) )

The performance!

Both sets of grandparents were able to come to the performance. Macey was SO excited that everyone was there! Afterward, she got a trophy and was spoiled by gifts from her grandparents. She was on cloud nine!

We decided to celebrate Macey's awesome dance performance with one of her favorite foods--pizza! (I had been previously informed that she doesn't like my homemade pizza--just the pizza with the red box--Little Ceasars!)

1st Ponytail!

Macey's hair came in a lot faster and thicker than Jemma's, so I have been sitting back--bidding my time--until her hair would be long enough to do something with! At 22 months, we are SLOWLY approaching the pony tail stage. I attempted one this last week, and she looked so cute, I had to take a picture!

Overalls

There is something about a little boy in overalls that melts my heart. We just got these overalls for Quinn, and they are my favorite! (Oh, and the swing has now made an appearance for my 3 month old babe, and he loves it! Although, his older siblings may love it, and him, more...)

Primary!

Right after we moved into our ward in Monroe...well, I guess about a year after...I was called to be in the primary presidency. I served as Second Counselor for almost 3 years to the day, and a couple weeks ago, I was released. 

It was a bittersweet experience for me. First, it was the first and only calling I had in the ward. Second, I loved who I served with, and I loved the kids. When I was first put in, I was almost terrified to teach Sharing Time and work with those kids, but by the time I left, I loved it! I felt so comfortable and at ease, so I guess that means it was time for a change, right? :) As hard as it was for me to leave, I have grown SO much over the last 3 years. I needed primary. I needed those kids. As I look to the new presidency, I am so excited that they will be able to get that same love and experience from those kids!

The new presidency is absolutely perfect! The week after I was released, they pulled these flowers together with pictures of the kids and thumb prints from all the kids (THUMBody loves you :) ) and dropped them by my house. Pretty amazing, right?!

(And...on to new adventures! Two weeks later I was called to be a 2nd Sunday Relief Society teacher and a Ward Specialist over advertising.)

Quinn's Baby Blessing

Quinn was blessed by Scott in sacrament meeting on May 1st. He looked like such a stud, and he had a lot of family come for the blessing. In fact, we were just missing my sister, Julie, and her family--if only Minnesota wasn't so far away from Utah!

After Sacrament Meeting, everyone headed back to our house for a quick brunch before heading back to their homes!

I love baby blessings! I have learned from holding my babies that each one has a different spirit, and each one has a different life and purpose ahead of them. You can just feel it. I have written down all my kids' baby blessings, and they are hanging in their bedrooms. I love going in their rooms and reading them--each blessing is specified to each child, and they are perfect. I was so excited to hear about Quinn and the path that lies ahead! (A big thank you to family for writing down the blessing. Everyone seems to write down different bits and pieces, and together, I feel like we got it all!!)

We bless you to advance in the priesthood, with the different offices, and learn the power that is in priesthood service. We bless you to serve a mission. Learn the word of God so you can teach with power and learn the will of God. You will go to the temple--be endowed and get married there. These covenants will bless you for the rest of your life.

We bless you to be strong and of a good courage. I bless you with the kind of courage that will help you make the right choices--no matter the outcome; the courage that defies the consensus.

I bless you to live in the service of the Lord. He will go before your face. He will be on your right hand and on your left, and His angels round about--angels on both sides of the veil surround you and bear you.
