Wagon Ride and Cooper Update!

Macey and Cooper got a wagon for Christmas! Scott and I attempted to put it together Christmas night, but we had to finish it the next morning. (Evidently, we have a really hard time putting things together!) We took Macey out for a wagon ride the next afternoon. We had two purposes, get Macey out of the house and help move things along with Cooper.

We succeeded at one of them. :) Look how cute Macey is!

Macey had fun on the walk! After being in that wagon for a while, she really wanted to get out, though! Thanks for the wagon Grandpa and Grandma Christensen!

I have had a feeling through this whole pregnancy that Cooper was not going to come on his own. I told the doctor about my concerns, and he didn't seem concerned at all. He figured that being this was my second, something was bound to happen.

With Macey I didn't progress at all on my own. I literally didn't do anything. My body would have kept Macey in me an extra month, if I would have let it!

The last two weeks I have gone to the doctor, everything has been the exact same. The good news is that my body has done something this time. The bad news is that it's not very much, and I'm not progressing quickly. The last two weeks I have been dilated to a 2 and 40% effaced.

My doctor assured me from day one that we would have this baby this year. (I think, being my due date was January 2nd, that he assumed my body wouldn't hold out that long.) Well, we decided at this last appointment that Cooper Lee is going to be a 2013 baby.

The longer I wait, the better the chance that I won't need a C section. (If I wait until the 2nd of January, my odds of having one go down 10%.) Where my blood pressure has been all over the place and I have had protein in my urine on and off...better to be safe than sorry!

I am going to be admitted to the hospital January 1st at 7:00 PM. (It's crazy to think that everything is set up and ready!) They will see if I have progressed any further. (I'm guessing I haven't. It's like Cooper knows that I have an induction date. Contractions have totally slowed down!) If I haven't progressed, they will put in a Foley Balloon to prep me to be induced. (I'm not looking forward to this part in the process! With Macey I was given medicine to prep me and a sleeping pill to sleep through it.) I will be induced on Cooper's due date--January 2nd!

I am grateful for answers and now I can plan ahead. It is a bummer that we will miss out of the extra child tax credit for 2012, but January 1st is only a few days away. We can make it! Before we know it, we will be holding a tiny baby boy! :)

Christmas!

We had such a good Christmas! It was our year to spend Christmas day with the Christensen family. Being I was very pregnant, and I couldn't travel, my family came down the afternoon of Christmas day. We ate, unwrapped, and celebrated! It was a lot of fun--and so good to see my family!

I was especially excited for Christmas this year because Macey could understand quite a bit of what was going on!

Scott had Christmas Eve off work, so we spent the whole day together! Macey was too distracted to help make cookies for Santa, but they did have M & Ms in them--a Macey favorite! We wrote Santa a thank you note to leave with the cookies, and she decorated the card. She loves her crafts--she got very into it! (She also got to snack on M & Ms and sample Santa's cookies!)

Santa ate all the cookies, drank the milk, and left Macey a note! (What a lucky girl!)

Christmas Eve night was spent putting together a play kitchen. It took a little over 2 hours--it was crazy! We watched "It's a Wonderful Life" and got to work! After everything was set up, you could tell who was the most loved in our family. Macey had TONS of gifts! :)

Scott and I were SO excited for Christmas morning! We had been anticipating this day for a while! That morning, when Macey woke up, we brought milk into her room, changed her diaper, and threw her hair up. I barely made it out the door to capture this picture. It is my favorite of the day!

The first place Macey stopped was her stocking. I think we could have just done a stocking, and she would have been happy! It didn't take her long to find and explore her other gifts. We opened presents all day because Macey had to play with her presents in between.

Macey has this weird fascination for Tinkerbell. She loves Tinkerbell more than Disney Princesses. Her mom and dad have had a hard time with this fact, but we love her. I found the new Tinkerbell movie for really cheap during the Black Friday sales. She has watched it everyday since Christmas. She is hooked!

Like I said earlier, my parents and sister Amy came over later that day. We were spoiled once again! Amy had our family's name for Christmas, and I am still trying to figure out how she got us so many things for under $20. Thank you, thank you!! My parents went over board for us as well. Scott got a tool kit filled with manly tools, I got an electric wheat grinder, and Macey and Cooper got a wagon! We also got a bunch of big-little things. We were truly spoiled! Thank you!!

Macey went down for a nap later that afternoon. She woke up, and we put her in her new nightgown. She snuggled right up to Scott and her blankie for another Tinkerbell viewing. (She was spoiled with that movie and chocolate...all day. Not the healthiest Christmas, but you only get to celebrate Christmas once a year!) She also played with her last gift. (Scott had to open the gift for her...it was meltdown time!)

Big Snowstorm!

The week before Christmas, we had a huge snowstorm! The snow still hasn't melted off the roads and our yard. I'm beginning to wonder if there is anything under all that white stuff out there! We had a good foot of snow (if not more). Out of all the small towns that surround Richfield, it seems that we received the most snow...lucky us!

I have been craving a good snowfall since leaving Rexburg, and we got it! Now we can have a dry winter! :)

The day before the big snowfall, I bought a sled for Macey. She wasn't quite sure of it, but she wasn't sure about dressing up in a really puffy outfit, making snow angels and snowmen either...and she had a blast! She sure does like the snow! (I apologize for the scowl. She got that from me. She really is having fun! :) )

(Oh, and we didn't go out in the snow until 4 days after it snowed...so quite a bit had melted! :) )
