This post has been a long time coming, but it took me a minute to get my pictures pulled together! For Christmas last year, Santa got a project for Macey to work on with me--enough materials to sew a quilt! We finally finished it during October General Conference!
Macey had so much fun using mom's sewing machine, and I learned so much patience letting her! Haha! Her quilt turned out beautifully! She asked Santa for another project this year!
Uncle Jake, Aunt Kassidy and Jackson had our names for Christmas. They did so much for us! They wanted to give Scott and I a date, and they wanted to give our kids a day at the gymnastics gym in Richfield. They had a pizza lunch and then they played for a couple hours!
Scott and I took the boys, and we went to El Mexicano in Salina for lunch. We then went grocery shopping together...for the first time in years! This was also the first time the boys had been inside a store. (And the last for a while. Evidently, twins are a novelty to complete strangers. Even with Scott and I masked up, so much touching and getting right in the boys' faces (unmasked). It was too much for this protective mama!).
I have seen pictures like this go around the online twin community, and I thought it was such a fun comparison that I wanted to do it!
This day was so surreal for me. Time is a fickle thing. It seems to move so slowly, but it's the opposite--time flies by. The statement "the days are long, but the years are short" rings true to me. The last month of pregnancy crept along, and I was in constant, uncomfortable pain. I cried a lot. Went to the doctor a lot. But in the end, I got two super adorable boys!
A few days before Christmas, we noticed that Charlie had his first tooth! Two days later Owen had his first tooth...and then Charlie had his second and Owen had his second! It all happened in like 5 days! It was crazy. I tried to get pictures of the boys' teeth, but they were not a fan of me messing with their mouths. I did eventually get a picture of Charlie's tooth!
When Macey and Cooper and were little, Scott created this game called "Ninja Baby". He has played it with all of our kids, and it was fun to see a full circle moment when he played it with Owen and Charlie and all the big kids joined in!
Owen thought this was the funniest/funnest game ever, and Charlie wasn't too sure!
It snowed the day after Christmas (figures, right?!). The kids had been waiting for snow over Christmas break, so the first thing they wanted to do when they woke up was play in the snow! Anyone who has kids knows how much work it is to get them ready to play in the snow...and then to clean up all the wet/snowy/muddy gear when they come back in. It's worth it...just still a lot of work!
(We had just finished getting every one dressed, and Jemma's shirt under her snow pants had slipped up. I told her we weren't going to take everything off and fix it....then came the tears. Lucy is such a caregiver. She walked right over and hugged Jemma. No worries, we fixed it before she went out in the snow.)
