Cousin Day!

A couple days before school started, we were able to have some of our cousins over to our house for one last summer celebration! I told Scott that we were going to have cousins over, and he said that he wasn't missing it, so he took the day off of work to party with us!

We did water coloring and sketching classes with Uncle Scott! (And finished the fun with chicken nuggets, french fries and grapes!)

We then went outside for pools, splash pads, chalk, bubbles, badmitton and popsicles!

Macey Gets Her Braces Off!

Macey got her braces off right before she went to school for her 7th grade year! She was VERY excited to get them off, and she had a list of things she wanted to freely eat after they were off! She had her braces on for 22 months (but whose counting?!). She even got her Grandma Christensen to give her a bag of homemade caramels--the number one thing she has missed eating!

(Since this time, she has had a permanent retainer placed on her bottom teeth and has been fitted for a nighttime retainer. Our orthodontist also wanted to do some finishing work on Macey's top teeth, so he had her in Aligners for 8 more weeks. When that is done, we will fit her for a permanent retainer on the top teeth and a nighttime retainer for those teeth too.)

Macey got a balloon, bag of candy and coupon for a free milkshake from Bullies for getting her braces off!

Husband and Wife Convention in Midway

One of my favorite times of the year is Husband and Wife Convention--meetings for Scott's employment that I get to go to, too! This year, the meetings were held at Zermatt Resort in Midway, UT! My mom took on the task of watching all 8 of our children for 24 hours, so we could both go. The resort is a fun, Scandinavian resort tucked away from the bigger cities. All of our meetings were held in a church building Midway that had fun, Scandinavian architecture--I had to snap a picture by it because it looked so cool!

We left a little earlier, before our meetings, and we were able to do an endowment session in the Payson Temple. It's always good to be in the temple with Scott!

Right after lunch, we played get-to-know you games, and Scott won the "chubby bunny" competition by sticking 14 marshmallows in his mouth!

I had been craving some good, authentic mexcian food, so we went to Don Pedros for dinner! We also stopped at Red Mango for some frozen yogurt and a walk afterward!

There was a mini golf course on the resort that we could do for free, so we stopped for a quick game at mini golf--where I dominated against Scott! (I can say that in my journal, right??)

It is always a cup-filling 24 hours, and I am so glad that I got to go with Scott. My mom snapped some pictures of the kids during that time!
