The Fearsome Foursome!

June Random!

Life has been crazy around here the last month or so! I went to Dollar Tree and loaded up on workbooks and preschool supplies to have a "school" over the summer. I haven't been very diligent in doing it daily, but we have been doing it! They kids are flying through the workbooks.

One day, after doing a couple pages, I asked Coop if he wanted to put his name on the top of the pages. He said, "O-tay!" "C-O-O-_____" I asked what the line was for. He said, "lots of other letters. Cooper is a REALLY long name!"

One of the hardest things about a fourth child is that I don't get to hold my sleeping baby much. There are always kids to be helped, someone is screaming, etc. Whenever I get to hold him, I think he is just the most beautiful baby ever, so I always seem to take pictures!

Waking up from naps is hard. Poor Jemma has a really hard time waking up. She loves her sleep! One day, after nap time, she staggered out of her room, naked (with diaper), walks to a cardboard box and lays there for about 10 minutes.

Look who is a big 4 month old?!

Jemma LOVES Daniel Tiger! When I feed Quinn, I know she will be calm and quiet if I turn it on in our room. She was climb on our bed, climb under the covers, watch "Tiger" and giggle to her hearts content!

One Sunday, after getting the kids ready, I thought they looked especially cute, so they needed a picture!

One, bright flash!

Quinn is getting to the stage, where he hates to be laid down. There is too much to see! He is getting really good at doing the Perma-Crunch!

My boys!

A Macey and Holly Date!

The day before Macey's birthday, Aunt Holly came to visit for a special birthday, Holly-Macey date!

Before that day, Holly had a FaceTime session with Macey and they talked about what things they would do on their date. Macey was so excited, she made a book with pictures and words to tell Aunt Holly where to go! (She brought her book on the date, with a pen, to check things off as they went.) (I should also say that she had a picture of them going down a waterslide together, but that page didn't seem to make it into the book...you're welcome, Aunt Holly!)

Aunt Holly was such a good sport about taking Macey EVERYWHERE she wanted to go.

Macey told her she wanted to get her nails done. I have never gotten mine done...so I'm not sure how she came up with the idea. They went to Top Nails in Richfield, and Macey got her toes and nails done. She is still so excited about them!

Bullies for lunch!

A new Barbie from Wal-Mart and a trip to play at the park.

And then a "hot drink" (soda) from Soda Run and a cookie!

Thank you, Aunt Holly, for spoiling Macey for a day--she is still talking about everything you guys did together!

The Concussion

Our little Jemma sure gives us a run for our money--in more ways than one!

A couple weeks ago, we went to play group at a park in Monroe. I had three kids running three different directions, so I was constantly counting them. During one count, I turned to find Jemma standing on picnic tables at the park. I yelled for her to get down, and then I started walking toward her. As I got closer, I told her to wait for me, but she didn't listen because Jemma is hard-headed (pun intended). It's a good thing she is hard-headed, though!

I was about 10 feet away when I saw her slip, and I heard her head thud against the concrete. She had a good hurt/scream/cry. When she calmed down a bit, she told me her head hurt, and she kept saying "head, hurt, ban-baid (band-aid)". I looked at her head and felt it. Her eyes looked okay to me (pupil-wise), but she did have a pretty good bump, and with her blonde hair, you could see the area around the bump had little red dots--a bunch of broken capillaries. She seemed "slow" (for Jemma, at least) so I texted Scott who was down the street at work. He offered to come look at her head to calm me down a bit. :) He took one look and said "go to the doctor". I called our regular doctor and they said to bring her right in.

I took the other kids home, and Scott made them lunch while I headed to Richfield. I made Jemma suck a sucker and turned on the "Frozen" soundtrack because she was super sleepy, and I didn't want her falling asleep.

We got to the doctor, and he did 3 tests on her. She passed all three, so he didn't think she needed an MRI, but I was supposed to watch her closely for 24 hours--if I wasn't paranoid before, I sure was then! (I mean, you can't tell a mom the words "possible brain bleed" and expect life to be normal again...)

He gave her a sucker, and like nothing happened, she wrapped her arms around my neck, we walked to the car, and she hopped right in her car seat. He told me he was sure she had a concussion and would have a large headache for a couple days (which I could totally see!) but all was well in the end.

Here is to the beginning of hard heads and doctor's visits!

Rain, Rain...

We had North Carolina rain, and it was awesome! We called all the kids outside and let them run and splash. It brought me back to my childhood and all the rainstorms I played in.

The Circus!

Our family has done some fun things in the last couple of weeks! Our friends offered us FREE tickets to the circus, and there was no way we could turn them down! It ended up working out really well because someone came to see our house right before. Because someone was coming to see the house, we opted for dollar menu at McDonalds beforehand!

Jemma was Jemma, and her shoes quickly came off, so she could get more comfortable!

Cooper's favorite part were the "3 boys that looked like monkeys".

Quinn had a hard, hard time! It was past his bedtime, and he was so tired. The music was VERY loud, and he screamed through the first 30 minutes. As soon as mom got a hold of him, he calmed down, and I got him to sleep for the first half!

Spiderman was the last part of the act! Scott watched Cooper during this part because Coop LOVES Spiderman. About a minute into it, Scott watched Cooper flip around and look behind him. He kept scanning the rafters, and finally Scott asked what he was looking for. He told him he was looking for the "bad buys" (bad guys). If Spiderman was over there, then the bad guys must be around here somewhere... :)

To be honest, we left after the first half. Quinn was awake and fussy again, and the kids incessantly asked for concessions (which were outrageously priced!). Mom and dad were too cheap and too tired.  The second half didn't start until 9:00, and we knew it would have been a VERY late night. But the first half was awesome! The kids talked about it for days!
