A New Refrigerator!

We moved into our home a little over 4 years ago. We have had problems with the fridge, almost from day 1. We have had a repairman come 3 different times, and the last time, he basically told us that there was nothing more he could do. Our freezer kept freezing over, and locking up the cooling mechanism. I guess it is a pretty common problem among Samsung refrigerators. 

We waited for our freezer to get really bad...to the point where my blow dryer couldn't defrost it...for the 6th time! Haha! 

The only problem with this whole situation is that it's 2020. Among all the crazy things that have happened, evidently an appliance shortage can be added to that list! I couldn't find any big distributors that delivered to our little valley...which meant we needed to shop local. We have 2 stores to shop from. I went to both on a Saturday, and by Tuesday, all the cheap fridges we were looking at were gone. My options for new fridges could be counted on one hand!

We ended up at Home Depot, with the choice of 3 fridges. The most expensive was $4000, and the option we got was $1300. The only problem with our fridge...is that it was missing 2 handles! Haha...which is a problem, right?! A salesman talked me through ordering appliance parts online and having them shipped to my house. It worked perfectly, and the handles were really easy to install! Two days later, we had a new fridge in our house! Thankfully, we had a deep freezer to load all of our food in, and 2 coolers to load our cool stuff in.

16 Week Ultrasound

16 Weeks started an exciting part of our pregnancy! Our pregnancy is considered "high risk" because they are identical twins that share a placenta. The technical term for our pregnancy is Monoamniotic Dichorionic Twins. The first concern with our type of pregnancy is TTTS (Twin to Twin Transferal Syndrome)--which occurs when one twin has a better connection to blood supply through the placenta, so the other twin has a "failure to thrive". Because of that concern, from 16 weeks to 24 weeks, I am given an ultrasound every two weeks. 

16 weeks was my first ultrasound to scan for problems. They measure the amniotic fluid surrounding both babies, babies bladders, and then the size of the babies--the goal is to make sure everything is equal among the twins. 16 week scan went really well! Babies look to be the same size, heart rates were perfect...now to wait for 18 weeks!

Ultrasounds are always so interesting because the twins share a space, so they are always tangled in each other or kicking each other. This is a picture of Twin B's head and Twin A's legs and bum!

Harper and The Boys

Harper LOVES her boys. The three of them share a room, and I don't know what it is about night time giggles, but they are all thick as thieves. One of her favorite activities is knocking down their Lego buildings. At first, they really didn't like it...now they build houses just to watch her giggle and knock them down!

 

More Sleepy Lucy

I know I have posted about this before, but Lucy needs afternoon naps! She refuses to take them...there is so much going on, she doesn't want to miss it! She often finds herself snuggled up with others and a good blanket, sleeping. She is just SO cute...I have to take pictures! 

A Day of School

I feel like I don't have any major school updates for the kids, but I snapped this picture the other day...this is a day in the life of school (or it was in December)! Computer for Macey and Cooper, projects with Quinn and Lucy, Harper sleeping, and Jemma working on her writing in a workbook!

 

Harper's 11 Months Old!

Harper turned 11 months old right before Thanksgiving! It has gotten more and more difficult to do these sign pictures every month--Harper has zero desire to hold still and perfectly hold up/leave the sign alone! We will get what we can get!!

The good news of this month is that Harper started walking!! She is one of our earliest walkers, and she tries so hard to keep up with all her siblings! Harper is so even tempered. She has also had a hard month teething and getting those two top teeth to break through! Oh, but she is so, so cute!

Getting Our Christmas Tree!

Every year we go to Home Depot to pick out our Christmas Tree! This year we made a quick, masked trip, and the kids had a blast picking one out!

 We continued on with our yearly tradition of Little Ceasar's Pizza, watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and decorating our tree!
