Macey Goes to Activity Days

Macey's Activity Day leaders stopped by to drop off a summer schedule for Activity Days! She hasn't been able to go since March 2020, and she was SO excited! Scott and I decided it would be an okay thing for her to go to, and she desperately needs some normal back in her life, as well! She came back very happy and talking 100 miles a minute! We had to take a picture to commemorate the occasion.

Yardwork!

Summertime means yard work! Last year, during the COVID craziness, we really didn't have money to spend on our yard. I had time--thanks COVID--so I decided to put some work in! The flower beds surrounding our house had settled. We had lived here for 4 years, and it looked rough. So I spent weeks scraping up the old mulch (because I didn't want to spend money on new bark) and then hauling extra dirt from our garden to fill in the area. After it was filled, I laid the old mulch back down! It was A LOT of work. BUT...it got us by for another year.

This year, Home Depot had a Memorial Day sale on bags of mulch, so we decided to load up. We have a lot of natural areas in our yard...and we needed a lot of mulch! We bought 40 bags, and loaded them in the back of the van--we were loaded to the brim. The kids loved that wet wood chip smell--ha!

When we got home, we spent the day weeding and laying down mulch. Scott also built a new grill! We brought the twins outside, and we switched off feeding and working. It was a successful Saturday!

The End of May

The law of baby twins--one is happy, one is sad. One is hungry, one is satisfied. One is stinky, one is clean.

Harper LOVES green beans. She finished them off after Sunday dinner one week!

Before work one morning, I snapped this picture of Scott!

Owen's zen pose!

Macey wanted a selfie with the twins!

Quinn and Lucy wanted to read to the twins!

Harper has been so fascinated with my lazy susan spice cabinet! She has been so fascinated that she has spilled a bottle of onion salt, italian seasoning and cayenne pepper. That was fun. haha! Then I decided it was time to put all the seasonings up high!

One very, very crazy afternoon, both twins were screaming. I was feeding one twin, and the other was screaming. Lucy wandered inside, and she wanted to help Charlie, who was screaming. I asked her if she could just hold his pacifier in while I fed Owen. 20 minutes later, it was quiet, and I thought Lucy had wandered back outside. I went back in the bedroom, and Lucy was just laying on our bed, holding the pacifier in. She was just patiently waiting!

When Harper is really agitated or upset, Jemma likes to scoop her up, and she builds a little bed for her on the couch.

1 Month Old!

I can hardly believe how quickly time is flying. Don't get me wrong, I feel the hours and the days...and the lack of sleep, but they are growing so quickly! We are finally figuring out sleep and a routine. Owen is off of oxygen now!! We are still wearing newborn diapers and newborn clothes. We are still sweet, laid back babies!

I mentioned before how difficult it is to get a cute, loving picture of the twins. The first picture is a good example of this! One afternoon, I figured out the trick...feed them really close together and then will fall asleep snuggling each other!

Aunt Holly Meets Charlie and Owen!

Aunt Holly and Aunt Emily hadn't been able to meet and hold Owen and Charlie. Holly was driving to Moroni for the weekend, so we offered to drive up so she could meet the twins! I always seem to be holding a baby, so it was a little nice to have free hands for an afternoon!

Lunch with cousins was a bonus!

Blue Kisses

I surprised the kids with cupcakes from Walmart. They were awesome, blue cupcakes that were on sale. They were so awesome...that the blue stayed on our faces for 2 days! Haha!
