Macey and Jemma have this Ariel toy that sometimes asks 'What shall I wear to the ball?" Tonight they wanted me to push the button and it asked the question. The following is the real conversation afterwards:
Ariel: "What shall I wear to the ball?"
Jemma: "Tants" (Pants)
Macey: "Yeah, but its snowing outside so you have to wear yoga pants."
These girls know comfort!

Quinn's Last Ultrasound
With all our other kids, picking out a name for them has been relatively easy. When we went to our 20 week ultrasound, we had a perfect girl name picked out and no boy name. So, of course, we found out we were expecting a boy!!
Several weeks later, we decided on the name Quinn Goodwin Bagley! Now, both of our sons will carry their Grandpa's middle names--Cooper Lee Bagley and Quinn Goodwin Bagley. Scott and I owe so much love and respect to our fathers and we really wanted our sons to have that legacy, too!
Quinn's pregnancy has gone by so quickly! A couple days before Christmas, once the stress of shopping and wrapping had slowed down, I realized that I had done nothing to get ready for Quinn. Usually, I am so on top of things, and I couldn't believe how behind I was at 32 weeks pregnant! So I made a giant list of things to do and then a list of things I needed to buy.
Quinn has been measuring big, but all our children measure big...so to be honest, I haven't been too concerned about it! My doctor and I decided that I'm just going to have a big baby, and having a size ultrasound won't change any decisions, so we have opted out of one. Then last week, I was measuring three weeks ahead, so the doctor thought we ought to just have one in case.
So this last week, at 36.5 weeks, I went in for an ultrasound! Mostly, I was just excited to see him again--one last hurrah before we hold him in our arms!
They measured his size at the beginning. They measure his head, his abdomen, and his femur bone and then average the numbers together. His head measured 39 weeks, 2 days. His abdomen measured 38 weeks, and his femur bone was measuring 34 weeks, 2 days. So...he fits in really well with all the other kids! Long torso, short legs, big head... That's how we make babies!
The ultrasound isn't completely accurate, so the measurements could be +/- 1 pound on all the estimates. But right now, they estimate that he is 7 pounds, 2 ounces! (It's crazy to think that he is already the size of a newborn baby! I told you...this has all come up so fast!) I asked about him having hair, and we also got a great shot of Quinn's hair!
We had another first, we got a 3-D ultrasound! Our kids usually move around way too much for a good picture. Quinn was holding perfectly still, so we got some great shots. This was probably my favorite part because I got to see him! He looks similar to Cooper, but he looks like his own person too! I can see similarities to Jemma and Macey too, but he looks like he will be his own person!
Enjoy a few pictures!
As long as the ultrasound didn't predict that I would be having a 10 pound baby (and it didn't!) We are going to be induced on the night of the 14th (so he'll probably be born on the 15th!). A little less than 3 weeks to go!! We are so excited to meet our Quinn Goodwin!

"And it Came to Pass"
"And it came to pass" is probably one of the most common phrases in scripture. In fact, it appears 1523 times throughout the 4 canonical texts. I believe there is reason for the repetition. What a blessing it is that some things "come to pass" rather than "come to stay".
Remember the blog post about our stressful and difficult fall?? (In case you don't, you can click here.) I kept thinking that we could only go up from that point. But it seems that some things "come to stay" before they "come to pass"!
Here is a recap of the stresses we have been through since that post.
1. The Deer and our Poor Mazda: Remember that deer that totaled our poor Mazda?? Yeah, me too. It was a huge blessing, but it was stressful and hard and I would be okay not reliving it.
2. The New Van: The new van has turned out to be a total blessing, but getting the van was a stressful experience. We got it in one day from a place in North Orem about 2.5 hours away from our home.
3. America First Credit Union: We got our loan (for our old van and new van) from this credit union. A week after the trek to North Orem for the van, we found out that the credit union needed a copy of Scott's SS card. The person who entered our loan information the first time, typed in his number wrong, so we couldn't be approved for a new loan until they could see the card. The closest SS office is in Provo. They are only open M-F from 9 until 4...when Scott works. We could order one by mail, but it would take months of approval to arrive. So...another trip to Provo!
4. Check Engine Light: 6 days after getting our van, the check engine light came on. Of course. Luckily, we had a 7 day warranty, so the place where we bought the van had to cover what was wrong. We had to pay $35 for a diagnostic test down here to find out it was an emissions problem. Our salesman thought it was for sure the O2 sensors, so he ordered the parts, and we had to drive up the next week to his mechanic to have it fixed. (Wouldn't you know, his mechanic doesn't work weekends...so it was another weekday fix...2.5 hours up, 2.5 hours back.) The next day, check engine light went off again. Turns out the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. Salesman paid for it, but we drove up to the mechanic again for an all day fix---2.5 hours up, 2.5 hours back.
5. DVD Player: We wanted a DVD player in our new van--if we were going to pay money for a van, we were going to get what we wanted. So we paid for one to be installed. But, we had to drive our van up for it to be done...sound familiar? :) Oh, the mechanic and the DVD installer don't work the same days...Another 2.5 hours up and back. :)
6. Health Risk Assessment: For our insurance, we are signed up for a healthy living program. We noticed that there was an option to get lab work done, and we could get $70 a person! We're poor, and lab work is free. So...of course we decided to do it! We found out that with Scott's high blood pressure, he also has high cholesterol. This pregnant lady didn't handle the news well. (At 27, you shouldn't have to worry about those things! Plus, if anything happened to him, he would leave me with 4 tiny kids to worry about...I know, pregnant lady worries.)
7. The Heater: The first week in December, our heater went out. We have had a problem with it every year we have lived here, and I thought for sure it was shot. It went out Saturday night, so I got to spend all Sunday bundling our children up, crowding around space heaters, wondering how we were going to afford one more fix. I called the heating place the next day, and a repair man came over a few hours later. It turns out a motor had to be replaced in the fan. Not as bad as a new heater, but it was still a few hundred dollars to have it fixed.
8. The Next Sunday: Scott had meetings before church, and then he volunteered to help get a lady in our ward some prescriptions from Richfield. By the time he got home, we were running late for church. We loaded everyone in the van, and the van wouldn't turn on. We tried everything! We finally decided to ride to church like it was 1950, pile in Scott's car, and we got to the overflow by the time opening prayer had ended. I just sat in the back row of the over flow and cried. One more thing that I wasn't sure I could handle. We got home from church, and I reached out to my parents. After about 30 minutes we figured out the problem, and our van worked again. I just needed to stress about it for 3 hours. :)
9. The Lump: That next week, 2 days before Christmas, Scott approached me at 9:00 at night. He told me not to freak out, but he found a lump in his chest that morning. How do you not freak out?! He was obviously freaking out...and it was hard to remain calm. I called the doctor in the morning, and they were able to squeeze him in with another doctor in a couple hours. He went in. The doctor told him that the lump is in a bad spot, and the most common side for breast cancer. So he sent him back for an ultrasound. Scott had an ultrasound of the lump, the radiologist looked at it, and then it turned out that it was nothing serious--lympoma, fatty lumps. He has one on his arm and one on his leg and now one on his chest. He said if they bother him, he can get them removed, and he is supposed to monitor their growth. Blessing!
10. Back Pain: The day after Christmas, Scott did something to his back...again. This time it was bad. Scott was down and out for almost 3 weeks. The only things that would help were Tylenol Rub, Ibuprofen, and Thermacare heat wraps. Repeat all for weeks. That means Scott was down and out. I had to do all heavy lifting of children, diaper changes, cleaning, bathing--all of it, very pregnant. It was hard, and it was hard to watch Scott and not be able to do anything to fix him.
11. A Windshield: We knew Scott's car had to be reregistered in January, and it had a cracked windshield--which would need to be replaced before it could be reregistered. With replacing, new windshield, new wipers, state inspection and then registration fees, put us just over $300.
12. The Oil Change: A week after the windshield, we decided to change the oil in the van--we had never done it before.
13. The Power Steering Pump: Our van had started to make a whirring sound days before the oil change, so we asked them to take a look at it. Turns out our Power Steering Pump had a leak in it. Our fluid had all dripped out--hence the whirring sound. So they filled up my power steering fluid, ordered the part, and the next day, they replaced the pump for another $400.
14. Timing Belt: While replacing the power steering pump, they asked if the timing belt had ever been changed. It is usually done around 60,000 miles, and we were at 89,000. We checked the Carfax, and there was nothing on there. They said it's the biggest problem they see. If they wait until the timing belt breaks, it would destroy the engine and be a bigger fix. So...we probably ought to get it replaced. The kit for the timing belt had 3 other parts that could be replaced, and they would do the whole thing for $775. We didn't really have a choice, so we ordered the parts and replaced the timing belt.
15. The Camry: On the way home from picking up the Honda from it's last repair, the check engine light came on on the Camry. We pulled over, checked the oil, and it was completely gone. We filled up the oil, and then we brought our car back to Big O. We had the oil changed, and found out the check engine light mainly came on because we need a new catalytic converter. (Don't worry, it's only $599 for a new one...) We actually knew that it needed a new one, but we decided it wasn't worth it to get a new catalytic converter for our 2002 car with 186,000 miles on it that Scott only drives back and forth to work. The other code that was being set off was for the brake light sensor (it needed to be replaced). Scott's car was also leaking antifreeze, so it needed a new coolant bottle, more antifreeze, an air filter and all the labor behind it. Totaling another $350.00.
16. The Extras: Underneath the major stuff, comes the small minor things. Church callings, Scott's homework and graduate school courses, children up and downs--sicknesses, sleeping patterns, fighting, problems with school, pregnancy up and downs...the small things pile up with the big things and make life hard.
Our family scripture has been on my mind a lot. It is D&C 90:24--
"Search diligently, pray always, and be believing, and all things shall work together for your good, if ye walk uprightly and remember the covenant wherewith ye have covenanted one with another."

Macey Celebrates her Birthday!
Macey's birthday is in the summer--don't worry, you didn't forget! If you have a birthday during the school year, you get to come in on your child's birthday and help them celebrate! Because Macey has a summer birthday, her preschool teacher has the parents come in at random times to do a spotlight on their child. Carma could see my growing baby bump from a distance and asked if I would like to come in before Quinn was born to do Macey's spotlight! Yes--yes, yes!
So last Thursday was the day! Her teacher said I could bring her younger brother and sister, but I decided to try to find someone to watch them. With kids so close together in age, I feel like we have to create times when each child has one-on-one experiences...because we go everywhere and do everything together as one big family. I decided that Macey needed this experience to totally be about her--and that mom was there just for her! So that's what we did!
I was told that the moms come, do a quick spotlight on their child, read their favorite book, and then bring snack. This is my first time doing this preschool thing--so for a couple days I tried to pull out of Macey what the other spotlights had been like. I didn't get anywhere--no matter how many times I asked!
So, I did what I wanted to do!
I wanted Macey to be a part of this, so the day before, for her nap time project, we sat down together. We made a list of all of her favorite things, and then Macey made a book about Macey!! She got so into it, and I fell in love with the book.
For your viewing pleasure, a book about Macey:
A self portrait. (She told me that her eyes kind of look like suns...but not really...because they're eyelashes. :) )
Macey is 4 years old! (You would believe how we struggled with drawing the number 4...we haven't worked on numbers yet! I think this is our 4th draft. :) )

This is Macey's Family. (Girls in Pink, Boys in Green. Left to Right: Mom, Cooper, Dad, Quinn, Macey and Jemma)
Macey's favorite color is pink.
Macey's favorite things are Ponies and Princesses. As you can clearly see, her favorite pony is Pinkie Pie, and her favorite princess is Rapunzel (notice the long hair).
Macey's favorite activities include playing in the snow with dad. (Notice dad's snowballs, ready to fire. Also, notice how Macey does not have hair because she is wearing a "hook" (hood).)
In the summer, Macey likes to play in the pool (evidently, with mom. She was insistent that I was wearing a swim suit and in the pool with her...which never happens in the kiddie pool, but I'm glad she enjoys doing that!)
Macey's favorite foods are strawberries and pizza!
Macey's favorite animal is an elephant (who knew?!). She wanted to draw this completely on her own, so I found a toy elephant and she stared at it for a while and then drew this picture!
Macey got to introduce her mom and tell what her favorite thing to do with me was--which is playing in the snow. (No worries, when we left preschool that day, she pelted me with a giant snowball!)
We went through her spotlight book, and then I read "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" to her class. For snack, Macey brought Teddy Grahams, and the kids were all higher than a kite when we I left! Macey talked about this day for days to come.
Sometimes it's good to celebrate your birthday all year round!

1st Nephi Bowling!
Our family made a goal to read The Book of Mormon together as a family this year. Our bishop challenged us to do it, and we have never read the whole book together as a family--so why not?!
The YM/YW are taking on the challenge too. Being Scott is YM president, he has an incentive for the YM each month to finish. We decided it would be good to have family incentives too--the kids would love it! The goal is to finish a book of scripture per month.
We have been trekking through 1st Nephi together as a family for a while. I'll admit it. We decided to hit the challenge hard, and we finished 1st Nephi about half way through the month.
It was probably good we finished then because our first incentive was bowling! I didn't realize how sore or tired I would be at 35 weeks pregnant...until we were done. Scott's back has been acting up again, so we were quite the pair for the rest of the day! In retrospect, bowling probably wasn't the best choice...but the kids loved it!
We had a coupon for buy-one-get-one-free pizza, so we ordered a couple pizzas and drinks for lunch. Poor Macey is not our athletic and competitive child, and that's okay! She enjoyed her pizza and sprite. She loved that she could bowl with a Rapunzel ball (a purple ball), but she would walk up to push her ball and then walk away--not even looking to see where her ball would go. I finally got her into it by doing cheers with her. (I'm sure I was quite the site!) We would spell out everyone's names and say, "Goooo, _______!"
"Mom! Mom! Take my picture!!" (And then he runs and hides behind the machine...)
This is the first time...EVER...that I have won at bowling!! Scott was off his game, but he came in a close second. :) Cooper is amazing at bowling. He might have been really close to beating Scott...and he wasn't really even trying! (Sorry, Scott!)

Socks
Jemma has always been friendly to strangers, well, I guess depending on her mood she is friendly. :) At Wal-Mart, it seems like she says "hi" and waves at everyone! At church, it's no different.
After she says "hi", she usually follows up with "shoes" (while holding up her leg, so you can see her shoes) and then "hair"--if your lucky "tants" (pants).
When we were little, I have vivid memories of beaded socks that my mom crocheted for me. She made Macey a pair, when she was little, and they popped up in a tupperware last week. Jemma wore her new beaded socks to church on Sunday, and she proudly showed them off! In fact, the hour before church, she did a lot of dancing in the kitchen. Scott had meetings before church and then helped with the sacrament, so I guess Jemma didn't feel like Scott has seen and appreciated her socks enough. During the sacrament, above the silence in the chapel, you could hear Jemma say, "Dad! Dad! Ocks! Ocks!" and see her little leg held in the air, so Scott could see them.

January Random!
Pizza, a pick, and her car= one happy Jemma!!
Sometimes our Sundays seem so crazy and busy. (I'm sure it doesn't help having 3 kids under 4 years old and being 35 weeks pregnant!) Last week Scott was gone to meetings while I fixed dinner. I was busy with my thoughts when I realized how quiet the kids were (which made me nervous...quiet is never good!). I listened in to find Cooper say "Jesus Christ". Then, I came in to find I was missing sacrament meeting, and Cooper was giving a talk about Captain Moroni!
And we can't forget Macey's musical number. :)
We have made our kids into milk lovers. Every morning, each kid gets 2 cups of milk to wake up with. Usually, our kids have nothing to do with each other after waking up, but this morning, everyone wanted to sit together in mom's chair. They got along for about 2 minutes, and then they went their separate ways, but oh boy, for two minutes, they looked cute!
And how could you not love these two?!

Cooper is 3!
Cooper turned 3 years old--just a week after Christmas! A day before his birthday, my parents came down with some presents and took us out to lunch! They brought birthday donuts for afterward. My camera was dying, so this was the only picture we got, but he had such a fun time! He said he would go out to lunch, if he could sit by grandpa. He and Grandpa shared a spot (sorry grandpa!) and Cooper talked his ear off!
Cooper slept in the morning of his birthday until close to 8:00. Now, if only his sisters had slept in! Macey went crazy over all the decorations, and she kept telling us that Cooper was going to love them.
For weeks, leading up to Cooper's birthday, Scott spent his nights working on posters for Cooper's birthday. He drew pictures of Cooper's favorite things--Avengers, Star Wars, and Dinosaurs. He is SO talented. There is no way I could have done this for Cooper!
Jemma was not happy that Cooper had all these presents to open, and she didn't have anything. Poor girl!
Macey had a hard time with getting no presents too, but luckily, they have a pretty great brother. He let them help open his last, big present! The three kids went crazy, and it didn't take to unwrap it.
I got this sweet Batman costume on Amazon, after Halloween for $3--no joke! Cooper was a in superhero heaven!
We had a quick breakfast, and then we loaded in the car to head to Provo. We wanted to do something fun for Cooper's birthday, and we thought he would love to go see the movie "The Good Dinosaur". He has been obsessed with dinosaurs for the last couple months. The closest theatre that had the movie was up in Provo, so we decided to make a quick 2 hour trip up and then 2 hours back. :)
I am not a huge popcorn person...which, turns out, is an okay thing! We discovered, if given a choice, our children would live on popcorn alone. Our 3 kids ate an entire large popcorn--licked it clean and wanted more!
Cooper's only request was for Root Beer. That's his favorite drink in the entire world, so for the birthday boy, it had to happen! Jemma hates soda, and Macey doesn't like Root Beer, so they had a lemonade to split!
Jemma did fairly well through the movie. She had a hard time sitting still for some of it, but thank goodness, my camera (minus flash) kept her entertained for a little while!
After the movie, we went to Sam's Club for some pizza, drinks, and yogurt!
It was evidently the day of food because after a little shopping, we stopped at The Sweet Tooth Fairy for cupcakes and cookies. Happy kids!
It was a long, exhausting day, and all the kids fell asleep on the way back home!
We had a small dinner at home and then birthday cake to finish it off!!
How can you tell a three year old had a good birthday?? By what he brings to bed with him, of course! Batman mask, Star Wars toys, Avengers book...what more could he need?!

Cooper came out of his room in shock. He went around to every picture and said, "Oh my dosh (gosh)________!" He was SO excited!
Cooper got lots of fun presents! The first he opened were sweatshirts from the football team at South Sevier High School. Scott is friends with the head coach, and he saw how excited Cooper was about football this fall. He knew it was Cooper's birthday, so he gave Scott a couple Rams jackets/sweatshirts for Coop--Cooper was so excited!!
