We had a quick getaway to Salt Lake before school started! We started off the day at the Hogle Zoo and then we ran to our hotel for a quick swim before dinner!
We ordered Papa Johns pizza to our hotel room for dinner!
To be completely honest, sleep was rough for everyone that night! I thought we would all be so exhausted from walking the zoo and swimming--nope!
Scott and I requested adjoining rooms. Called in twice to request it. We were reassured we had one...and then we were assigned 2 rooms on different floors. We were able to get our rooms on the same floor...but 4 doors down from each other.
The twins were awake multiple times, needing milk to go back to sleep. Scott ran out of milk, and for some reason, the milk was in my room fridge. He texted and called me in the middle of the night, but my phone was on silent and I didn't hear. I woke up to someone knocking on my hotel room door at 2 in the morning--and common sense told me that I wasn't going to answer that knock! When the knocking didn't stop, I realized it was Scott and the milk transfer happened.
Quinn slept like a maniac. Scott tried to help out Cooper and share a bed with Quinn. At some point in the night, Quinn did a complete 360--many times.
The boys were all awake at 6 AM.
Lucy had anxiety about falling asleep and then she had the most restless night of sleep! She spent most of the night sleeping horizontally on the bed. At one point in the night, she sleep-walked and she unlocked and opened our hotel room door. Luckily, I found it and was about to put on the top lock and push a chair in front of the door.
Jemma couldn't handle sleeping with Lucy (rightfully so....). She woke me up to tell me that she was sleeping on the floor. We located an extra blanket and made that happen. She woke me up an hour later to tell me the floor wasn't working out. I gave her my slot in the bed, and I slept with Lucy.
Harper is an intense snuggler. She basically laid on top of me when I was actually in bed with her. Everything she did, I felt.
Macey seemingly slept well...until she woke up at 5:45, couldn't go back to sleep. She tried everything she could to keep herself entertained--including juggling at the foot of my bed. (Doesn't everyone bring their juggling balls on vacation?!) In fact, that's the sight I woke up to at 6 AM.
Did we actually sleep?! Who knows!
The next morning we had continental breakfast and then we headed to the Church History Museum to explore and play! If you haven't been, go! It really is such a fun place for kids to explore!

We finished up our day with a trip to Sam's Club to stock up on food before school started! We also got a hot dog dinner with ice cream for dessert!
