The General Relief Society Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints joined with Intermountain Healthcare and University of Utah Health to make 5 million masks for healthcare workers. Our little valley was a little slower to receive masks to help, but our ward's Relief Society was asked to make 600 masks a week for 3 weeks. I volunteered immediately, but we have an awesome ward that sews! I was super lucky and grateful that I got to make 25 masks the second week! I got the instructions and all the pieces already cut out...I just had to sew them!
This week was hard on everyone! This was Jemma's last official week of Kindergarten. Cooper was just done. He was so done with trying, and he had several emotional meltdowns! Scott went back to work at the building for a couple days. Harper and Lucy had some hard days. Quinn wanted to be seen and played with and fed snacks.
On a good day, we decided to blow up our pool and have popsicles! Things are always a little better when I can send all the kids outside and let them explore together! It was probably a little cool (the weather was in the 70s with cloud cover) but the kids had a blast!!
Cooper got these magnetic shape toys for Christmas, and they are coveted around here! Every afternoon I send everyone out for outside free time, and one kid ALWAYS came back inside to play with them by themselves (Quinn was the main culprit on this one!).
Lucy has nominated herself "little mom" and she goes around being a little mom. It's fun to watch her mimic things she sees me do, and it makes my heart swell with pride that she mirrors me! She LOVES to cook, and she is always cuddling her baby and putting her to sleep.
Cooper struggled with homework. It has been a battle to convince him to do his worksheets the last couple weeks (and he usually hopped on Macey and Jemma's online learning too). One of his assignments was to make a thank you letter to a teacher. Cooper chose his 1st grade teacher and then he stared at the paper for 30 minutes. "He just didn't know what to write." Cooper is very straight forward and literal, so we had to talk through some things that he could write. This is what we got after 1 solid hour!
Cooper just drug his feet particularly hard this week. After this day, I told myself we were done! He had a week and a half left of school. If he wanted to do something, I would leave it open for him to decide!
On the day we decided Cooper could be done, he drug his feet particularly hard. I finally begged him to just do his writing prompt for the day--and I would give him a prompt. I wanted him to write about "why he hated homework". This was his response:
Jemma had a hard day on this day. Everyone was done with homework, (the last few weeks of school everyone's school work seemed to slow down but Jemma's picked up) and she wanted to be too. There was one fun project left in her packet, so we picked that out and did a fun project instead! She got to color this fish with crayons and then watercolor paint over the top.
Harper is such a wonderful 6th baby! She is happy the majority of the time. She always gives such great smiles!
On Thursday, Scott went back to work. I didn't realize how much I depended on him until he was gone. One of us handled "terrible-two Lucy" and the other had Harper. I just didn't have enough hands on this day!!
Harper was a mess. She screamed for an hour straight. Nothing I could do, fixed her--sitting up, laying down, facing forward, hot/cold, pain medicine for her teeth, singing, toys, reading, bouncing, standing. She screamed so hard, she got a bloody nose. It was terrible. Lucy couldn't understand, and she was so frustrated with me.
She woke up several hours later...the happiest baby ever! I still have no idea what was going on with her that day...I am just glad she slept and woke up happy.
The next day Lucy and Harper reversed rolls. Scott went to work again, and I just couldn't do anything to help! She just cried, for hours! She went from one room to another. She refused to wear clothes, eat, sleep, chocolate, Daniel Tiger (her favorite), read books, watch a movie. She didn't want hugs or to cuddle. It was a rough morning!
When I tried to wake her up from her nap, She told me she wanted to still sleep! So I left her alone for another 30 minutes! (She napped for a solid 4 hours this day!)
Quinn found this GI Joe in our flowerbeds (???). He lovingly named him "Chin"...because he has hair on his chin! Haha!
The best part about Thursday and Friday is that DAD CAME HOME!
Jemma ended up with another yeast infection. They have been happening every couple of months. We can usually take care of them on our own with OTC medicine, sometimes with prescriptions. We read online about mesh panties, so we decided to try those out! (Luckily Hanes makes some!) What a babe!
JEMMA GRADUATED KINDERGARTEN!!! I can hardly believe she is this old! I am sad that we missed out on graduation, and I can't believe she will be at school all day long next year!
Friday night, Quinn was playing before bed. He sent Cooper upstairs to get mom because "he hit his head hard and wanted her". We had to go upstairs to show dad and assess the damage. He had a bad bump, but that seemed to be his only problem. We kept him awake with some National Geographic show about animals to make sure he was okay and then he went to sleep! I showed him these pictures the next day (because I didn't want to scare him at the moment) and he called it his "bubble"!
The next day the bubble was gone, but he was left with a good bruise!

We turned on our sprinklers to adjust them for the summer. The kids had a blast running through the sprinklers!
In "Come Follow Me" this week, the kids reenacted a story...after they got in their time machine and traveled in time!
Scott had two seminary graduations to attend this year! They did graduations back to back, and they did social distancing ceremonies! CJ snapped this picture of Scott at the Central Valley Stake graduation.
We started off the week with a sleeping baby. It only seems appropriate to end the week with one too!
