Macey' Short Story

 Macey is so talented. She wrote this short story, and then asked me to read it and see what I thought. Pretty incredible!

Quinn's School Thanksgiving Party

Lucy gets done with preschool at 11:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Quinn is done with Kindergarten every day at 11:00. He takes the short bus home, and I run over a few blocks to pick up Lucy. It works out perfectly...most days! The bus driver usually drops off Quinn last, but on this day he dropped him off first! I came home to find this cute turkey, kicking his legs, waiting on our front porch. He had only been there a couple minutes, but I felt terrible! 

His newly made vest made me laugh out loud! He had a homemade Native American vest with "Peace, War", "tepee", "slam dunk" and "campfire" written on it. Sounds like Thanksgiving to me! Haha! 

Quinn came home with this worksheet of things he was thankful for. I asked where I was on the list and says "Oh!" and then points to family. I asked why Cooper got his own line, and I didn't. He giggled and walked away. I guess I am on there somewhere, right?

Lucy's Preschool Thanksgiving!

Look at this cute little turkey! They made camouflaged vests--so they hunters couldn't find them for Thanksgiving dinner! Her class prepared a few Thanksgiving songs to sing for the parents. During the day, they had a Thanksgiving feast that everyone contributed an item to! 

Everyone in their class was asked to donate 1 can of food to give to the foodbank. (Mrs. Stacey has 4 classes.) Lucy brought a container of peanut butter--because peanut butter is her favorite food in the world! I tried to give her "chunky" peanut butter to take. She looked at me and said, "Umm...I think they like creamy." (In case you were wondering...Lucy hates chunky peanut butter, so it makes sense that they wouldn't like chunky either!)

Macey Gets Braces!

Macey had her first orthodontic consult around 8-9 years old. Macey has lost her baby teeth, and gotten her adult teeth, really quickly! She lost her last tooth around 6 months ago (at 10 years old). On average, people lose all their teeth at 12 years old. 

She has some mild overlapping and her teeth on the bottom are very close together. He thinks they are on the verge of bunching, so Macey will need a permanent retainer on the bottom, when this is all over. 

Because she has lost all of her teeth, and her teeth are pretty much done shifting, she was eligible for braces. After talking with Macey, we decided now would be a good time to start braces! She should have them on for about 12-18 months.

She went in for one final exam, scans, x-rays, and then a 3D scan of her teeth! We came back for braces. Macey had to be pulled out of school, so we stopped for lunch on the way back!

After we decided to do braces, we went for a preliminary visit, where 3D scans and initial x-rays were completed.

A couple weeks later, we were ready for braces! The only time they put braces on was at 9 or 10 AM. Thankfully, Scott did his field writing reviews from our kitchen table, and I was able to escape with Macey! It took about 1.5 hours to get all the equipment on and get home. We thought she might want to stay home the rest of the day, but she wanted some easy to eat food...and then we brought her back to school!

Christmas Lights!

Oh, I love Christmas. So it's not too big of a surprise that we put up our Christmas lights in November. We made it about half way through the month! I know one of Scott's least favorite things to do is climb up that ladder and put lights on our roof, but I am so glad he does it for me!

Charlie slept through the experience, but Owen wanted to join in the fun! We put Christmas music on our bluetooth speaker, the kids play and help, and Scott and I get the lights up!

Macey's Manners Day!

In 5th grade, there has been a 20 year tradition to hold a "Manners Day". They teach the kids manners and how to conversate. Then they have all the 5th graders dress in their nicest clothes, and they pair them up, boy/girl. The cafeteria staff prepares a large thanksgiving meal, and then they have to eat with their best manners and carry on a conversation. Macey told us she had a great time...because her partner did anything she asked him to do. Haha...I'm not sure that was the point, but I am glad she had a good time! 

Babys' First Baby Food!

 Owen and Charlie tried baby food for the first time! We went with our usual sweet potatoes. The boys high chairs recline back, but they don't move forward, so we used towels to hold them up!

The Beginning of November

 Harper is a bottle of energy. She can unbuckle her car seat and crawl over the seat to her brothers in a flash! She is a dotting sister, and she is always ready to help them eat their bottles...whether they want to be fed, or not!

We have been working on sitting up, so we can work their muscles and get ready to sit up on their own!

Charlie!

Harper is CONSTANTLY changing her clothes. It drives me crazy! Usually she pulls out more clean clothes, but on a lucky occasion, she raids the dirty clothes. In this case, she found a dirty Cooper shirt and put a leg in each sleeve.

Harper loves baby dolls. (I mean, she watches me care for babies all day...I'm sure that adds to her curiosity.) Here she is feeding her baby!

Before you feel too sorry for Jemma...these are fake tears. Jemma told me to get my camera ready and wait just a minute. Bam...I'm not sure if I should be impressed or reconsider all the tears she has given me lately!

Joint Bath Time!

The boys are now big enough to go without their bath seat, so we decided it was time to do joint bath time! They love playing in the water, and they usually end up holding hands--at least once!
