A Picture an Hour

I saw the idea on a friend's blog, and I loved it! The task was to take a picture an hour. Now the blogging world can see what a day in my life is like!

6:00 AM: Bed head. Macey runs out to her toys, and she starts playing!

7:00 AM: Hair is done, outfit on for the day. (Thanks to dad who picks out her outfit and dresses her while I shower for the day!)

8:00 AM: Macey makes a delicious pan of cookies, and I get to try them about 10 different times. They are the best cookies! If I'm lucky, sometimes she makes cake too. Cooper makes an appearance for the day, drinks a bottle, and goes back to sleep!

9:00 AM: Quick trip to McDonalds for a large diet coke for mom. (5:15 came WAY too early this morning!) Macey colored in her coloring book the whole way there! Cooper fell asleep in his car seat, and his head automatically fell to the side!

11:00 AM: Cooper is fussy. (He has problems with his tummy like his sister did. Good thing mom knows how to handle it this time around!)

12:00 PM: Cooper falls asleep. His hat falls over his eyes while he sleeps.

1:00 PM: Macey falls asleep after playing in her room for a really long time! She didn't quite make it into her bed, but she made herself a bed on the floor. (After removing the floor vent cover and stuffing her stuffed animals inside...)

2:00 PM: Cooper is awake and chatting with me while I clean things up!

3:00 PM: Macey is awake! First thing she does is run and check on Cooper. (What a good big sister!)

4:00 PM: We skype with my sister and her daughters in Minnesota! I have to bribe Macey with food so she doesn't shove items in the vents or color on the walls while I can't watch her closely. :)

5:00 PM: We are done skyping. Macey finds the container of paper clips, fling them all over the room, turns to me and says, "Uh oh"! I agreed. "Uh oh" is right! After we cleaned up the paperclips, Cooper falls asleep on my chest as Macey gets her Disney Channel fix!

6:00 PM: Dad is home, Mom runs errands with Cooper, Macey continues her Disney Channel watching!

7:00 PM: Macey has eaten dinner, bathed, and now she gets out her last minute energy before bedtime!

We Love Food.

It's true. Food lovers. We have made Macey a food lover too. She can't say a lot of words, but she can say chocolate, cake, and cookie. She knows the difference between all three of them, too. (Although, when she saw a sacrament tray on lds.org, she kept calling the bread, cake. We'll work on it. :) )

Macey loves rice. Scott calls her his little Peruvian because of her love for rice and bananas. We had rice the other night for dinner, and I had to make 4 cups of it because she always eats the majority of the rice! Here is proof. (And after every meal comes dessert of some kind. If we don't ask if she wants chocolate, Macey will keep saying chocolate and cookie repeatedly until she gets one!)

This last Sunday, Macey started doing this. I don't know where she got it from! We thought it was so cute that we started doing it with her. I keep telling Scott by reenforcing these behaviors we are inevitably creating a little girl who people think is strange. But she is little, and she sure is cute while she does it!

Big Girl Bed

One of the first things I realized after finding out I was pregnant with Cooper, besides the fact I would have two kids in diapers, is that Macey would need to move to a big girl bed sooner than I had anticipated. It was either that or buy another crib...and that wasn't going to happen!

I have been stressing out over the switch! How do you even begin getting an active 18 month old ready for the move? Macey has always talked herself to sleep, and I was afraid, being it took her a little while to fall asleep, she would enjoy the freedom of not being contained in a crib a little too much!

I knew we would probably lose sleep during this whole process. We have been so sleep deprived with a newborn baby, I decided to throw a little more chaos into the mix...and add a little more sleep deprivation. :)

Last week we took the side off the crib and turned it into a toddler bed. We have a real big girl bed to put Macey in, but one step at a time! I bought a safety bed rail at Wal-Mart, so she wouldn't fall out of bed. We hooked it up to her crib!

So how is it going? Night time is a breeze! Macey has been sleeping through the night since she was 6 months old. (Thank you, sleep training!) My only concern was getting her to fall asleep in the bed. She is a pro! Now, if we say it's bed time, she says "night night", grabs her blankie, and heads into her room. She falls right to sleep in her big girl bed, and we don't see her until morning!

Nap time is a different story. She plays with, and pulls out, everything and then falls asleep. It takes her about an hour to fall asleep everyday, but it's getting better! I thought I would find her asleep everywhere but her bed, but she always finds her way back to her bed to fall asleep.

Once she gets the hang of nap time, we will switch her to her big, big girl bed. For now, she is doing incredibly well!

Macey's first night sleeping in a big girl bed:

These were taken at nap time! Macey slipped about 10 sheets of my scrapbook paper, which she found during one of her nap time escapades, under the door. The next two pictures are two separate nap time experiences and the outcome.

Macey Day!

In my last post, I mentioned my concern with not giving Macey enough attention. Scott and I decided, being he had Monday off from school and work, that we should dedicate the day to her! We went to McDonalds for lunch, and then we headed to the Richfield indoor pool!

Macey loves McDonalds! Okay, she mostly just loves french fries. She tried her first hamburger on Monday, and she was a big fan! She looked so old eating her hamburger by herself!

After McDonalds, we headed to Richfield's community pool. It only cost us $1.00 to get in--you can't beat that! Macey loved it, and she screamed when we took her out. She is our little fish!

Growing Up

When did Macey get so big? I think this at least once a day since Cooper came home! Macey was my tiny baby, but the day that Cooper came home, it seemed that she grew up overnight. She just seems so big! I am paranoid that I am making her grow up too quickly because she is now the big sister. Lately, we have been working on having just Macey time, so she knows that she is loved and can still be a kid!

Last week, we dressed Macey for the day, and I thought she looked especially big. Scott told me before he left for work that I needed to take pictures of her. I am really glad I did! After following her around for the day, I decided that 2T clothes are too small for her (as you will be able to tell from the tight clothes and short shirt :) ). We moved her up into 3T the next day. She is definitely growing up too quickly!

Shutting the bathroom door. (Something we have just learned how to do...because we had a lot of problems with playing the toilet. :) )

 (Bear Crawl!)

(Best Friends!)

This is one of Macey's favorite places in our house. It's the far corner of our bedroom. We put all the pillows and bedspread from our bed here every night. I think that's what draws her to the corner!

Oh, and this is something else we are working on. Macey loves to color, and she finds/hides pens everywhere. If we don't watch her, she tries to color on the walls. This next series of pictures shows me catching her doing it, telling her no, Macey repeating to me "no", still coloring on the wall, me taking away the pen, and Macey's ultimate meltdown. Enjoy!
