A Typical Day

Did you do a double take? When he came out of the dress up closet, I wasn't sure if he had on pants either. (He did.)

Macey's First Day of 2nd Grade!

I can't believe that Macey is in 2nd grade! I have great memories of 2nd grade, and I am so excited for Macey to create those experiences too!

The night before school began, was Macey's back to school night! I got to go with her, and she was SO excited! She found her desk right next to her friend Charly Ann. She had a bag of goodies on her desk (that she wasn't allowed to open until the next day). By the time we left, she couldn't stop talking, and she was so excited to get back in that classroom! 

That night, Scott was able to give Macey a father's blessing. I am always in awe at how He knows his children, too. There are so many things that I want for Macey, and I can sense he wants that and so much more, too. Macey is getting old enough, that she wants and needs to hear certain things too. She got emotional during her blessing, for the first time, and she told me that her heart--she could just feel something in her heart.

Macey was told that she has been given the gift of friendship. She has many friends and many other people consider her a friend. She was told to look for those who need her friendship and to be their friends.

Macey loves reading. She was told in the blessing that her love of reading was a gift, and that this year Heavenly Father had many more gifts that he was waiting to give her--and these gifts would be realized through her gift of reading. Her gift would also allow her to appreciate all other subjects.

The next morning we were awake bright and early for our bus! (The good news is our good friends in our cul-de-sac are riding the bus now too, so our stop is now right in front of our house!)

She had a great first day! She told me that she was nervous, so she said a prayer and asked that she would be able to make new friends--and "guess what? He answered me, mom! I made new friends!"

Jemma's Haircut!

Jemma got her hair trimmed by our friend Natalie. She LOVED having her hair done! Oh, and she was all for "shop talk"! She just chattered away! 

A Trip up North!

We made one last trip up to Provo before school started! I was concerned with some of Jemma's tummy issues, so we went to see a pediatric gastroenterologist. It was a nice 2.5 hour drive, so we made a day of it!

We stopped at a family favorite--Chick-fil-a--for lunch! The kids all loved it!

We tracked down a Big Lots--a Lisa favorite--to find some cheap baby food to stock up on!

We made it to the doctor's office! Jemma got to color in the waiting room. She was her spunky self--all over the place, but did so well and got swag wherever we went! (Including 3 packages of fruit snacks, a stuffed elephant, and a fun drawstring back pack to put them in!)

The hard part of the whole experience was getting lab work done (and the next day when I had to collect some...other samples).

She had never had blood drawn before, so there were two people to hold her down...plus me. The phlebotomist asked if Jemma could hold still. She said, "Yep, like a statue.". She then proceeded to make a robot move and hold perfectly still! She did so well that they let her have 4 treasures from the treasure box!

Oh, and didn't you know, the doctor gave Jemma a new "hat" in her back pack!

The good news is that all of Jemma's tests came back normal! She is a perfect little 4 year old girl--with a lot of spunk!

Shopping Cart Fun!

Lucy is FINALLY sitting in a bigger carseat...which means, my calm baby finally gets to be pulled out in grocery stores. It also means I have no way to constrain Quinn anymore. I worry about this day more for the kid who gets moved out! Well, we made this big deal out of our experience (with pictures and such)...and then Quinn fell asleep on the way to Wal-Mart. He wouldn't budge to walk in. So he slept, in our cart. This was the FIRST time in all my mothering life that one of my children has slept in a cart at a store. It was glorious!

Cooper on Two Wheels!

Cooper is starting to ride his bike with out training wheels! Go Cooper!!!! (Quinn didn't want to miss out on all of the boy fun!)

Lucy at 11 Months!

This little girl is getting so big! We are drinking in every moment with her, and we are so excited to celebrate her birthday in a couple weeks!

She is pulling herself up to stand, and she is starting to scoot around furniture now too!

This month we FINALLY cut her 4 top teeth--from right to left!

She still loves bath time with dad!
