Macey's First Talk!

Macey gave her first talk in Primary this last Sunday. Her topic was "Jesus Christ was Resurrected, so I can be too!" We used Scott's drawing skills, and he drew a picture talk for Macey. I held up Gospel Art Kit pictures, and she bravely stood up there and told about Jesus living on Earth, Choosing the Right and loving everyone, Jesus dying on a cross, Jesus being buried in a tomb, and Jesus being resurrected three days later.

She was so nervous before church, so I made sure she felt like a million bucks. She wore her new frilly, pink Easter Dress, we curled her hair, and her dad gave her a priesthood blessing of comfort. She was so ready that she told almost her whole talk from memory! She had one proud mom and dad.

My birthday circled around again this year, and now I'm 28! That seems so old, and I'm not sure where those first 28 years went, but hopefully, I have a few more left to go. :)

My birthday was completely awesome. Scott decorated with balloons, posters and crate paper. We opened presents before Scott left for work, and he ran home during his prep to bring me chocolate milk and a blueberry muffin--breakfast of champions! My parents came down to build a roof on the kids' swing set, and they brought Costa Vida for lunch. (They also brought more presents from them and my sisters! I was completely spoiled!!)

Scott came home from work with an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. He sent me back in the bedroom to lay down and rest, and he took care of the kids. He fed them dinner and got them to sleep. I came out for candles and birthday cake!

Then, he ordered us Sagebrush Grill, went and picked it up, and then pulled me from the bedroom. I came out to find freshly cut tulips (my favorite flower!) and a candle lit dinner--what a romantic! We opted out of a baby sitter because of the extra money. So we finished the dinner by sharing my carrots and water with the two girls--then we put them back to sleep :)

Enos, Jarom, Omni, and Words of Mormon!

Our Book of Mormon reading is chugging right along! By the end of April, we were supposed to finish the four small books: Enos, Jarom, Omni and Words or Mormon, and we did! 4 small books=4 small food items. So... we went to McDonalds to celebrate! Everyone got $4.00 worth of food, and everyone had so much fun! The kids were just excited to eat in the restaurant!

Star Wars Date!

Scott had a Cooper/Dad date to watch the new Star Wars movie on our new TV. :) The girls napped, I mowed the lawn, and all three boys watched Star Wars together. I came in to find Cooper flying around his ships and Quinn holding a ship on his chest. Cooper was SO into the movie, and he talks about it daily! Now, I need to keep up with all the characters, too!

March Madness, Madness!

I'm not a huge sports person (the curse of only having sisters). I don't think I have ever been into March Madness, and before marrying Scott I had only filled out one other bracket--my junior year seminary class. I actually won $10 from my teacher because my bracket won. I didn't know any of the teams, I picked winners based on colors and states. It's a true fact.

I have been a bit obsessed with Lula Roe clothes, but they are insanely expensive for a person who never buys herself clothes! I saw there was an online March Madness bracket competition, so I entered. I stayed within the top 10 of the competition, and I actually came in 7th place (out of 60 other people)!

Scott entered Mid Utah Radio KSVC's radio contest, and he submitted a March Madness bracket. I gave him a hard time through the whole thing, but Scott came out and beat me, in the end! (I chose UNC to win, he chose Villanova!) Scott did so well, that he ended up winning the radio contest. Out of 100 people, Scott won! He even picked the final score  to be 78-75, and the final score was 77-74.

For winning 1st place, he won a 48" Sony Bravia TV! Scott brought it home from work a few days later, and everyone was so excited! He also won a $20 gift card to Wingers and a free game of golf for 2--golf cart included! (He also won bragging rights for the next year. :) )

Jacob!

Our family finished the book of Jacob in The Book of Mormon! To celebrate, we went to get shakes (blizzards) at Dairy Queen...because Jacob's faith was "unshaken"! The kids were SO excited! While we waited for them to make our blizzards, the kids danced to the music. We were the only ones in the place, so the kids went to town!

We are a chocolate family, so everyone got something with chocolate ice cream...it was EVERYWHERE! Jemma wore more of her ice cream than she ate, and Cooper took forever to eat his (and was crazy-hyper by the end!). Macey was the first to finish and she loved every minute--now on to finish the four small books: Enos, Jarom, Omni and Words of Mormon!
