Custer State Park--Days 5 and 6!

Our Cutts cousins brought a few hammocks that they hung from trees. My kids loved hanging out with them with their cousins!

We spent the first part of this day at Sylvan Lake! They filmed part of National Treasure 2 here, and Cooper and I went on a mile hike to find the spot they filmed...and we didn't have any luck! It was a really pretty hike, though!

We did some paddle boarding and swimming!

My kids really loved creating things at the Peter Norbeck Education Center, so we stopped by for more arts and crafts!

We came back in time to get every one showered before our Chuckwagon Dinner! Grandpa and Grandma Christensen treated everyone to a wagon ride and chuckwagon dinner! It was so much fun! We all got cowboy hats and got to pick our color bandanas!

As part of the show, they invited all the men up to dance to Elvis Presley! I don't think they realized that Scott had been practicing for this moment his whole life!

Then everyone joined in a big circle and danced and sang together! The kids especially loved doing the chicken dance!

"Kowboy Keith" rounded us up and brought us back home!

And when you drink lemonade and take a long ride home, two little cowboys might have to use the bathroom at the same time!

The next day we got tickets to go explore Wind Cave National Park! The last time we went to Custer, the elevator to bring people back up from the bottom of the cave tour to the top had broken! They cancelled our tour. Two years later, on this trip, we were able to get tickets with their new elevator! We were all so excited to go on the tour!

We found out the next day that the elevator broke down again--we just barely made our tour before it shut down (or we were trapped on the elevator or underground)! We were grateful we got to have the experience!
There were buffalo all around the park. We found several on the way home!

We made it back in time to play in Legion Lake before a late dinner!
